A glimpse into an AI future
This week's AI prompt: thanksgiving turkey, illustration, digital art
Issue #10! It’s turkey week! 🦃 We’re a little sad not to be spending it with family in the US, but didn’t want to deal with the flight situation in the US this week. We’re spending the week in Oaxaca instead to celebrate Jay’s birthday (we’re based in Mexico City right now so it’s just a short 1 hour flight away). As you receive this in your inbox, we’ll be learning traditional Oaxacan cooking, and sampling moles and mezcal! 🌵
Here’s wishing that your flights are always on time this week, and that you have drama-free holiday gatherings 🤞❤️

🤖 Whether its in images 📷, video 🎥, gaming 🎮, or productivity ✏️, there’s a lot of buzz around potential use cases for AI tech
📚 Our book of the week is by the man who grew Disney 5x during his tenure, and is back this week as CEO less than a year into retirement after the Board ousted his hand-picked successor

A DEEPER DIVE: A GLIMPSE INTO AN AI FUTURE
We’re keeping this week’s edition light given the holiday week (in the US at least). Instead of the typical deeper dive, here are a few cool announcements that show what the future may hold using the latest in AI tech
Images: Generative AI is taking over. Now even Canva, the multi-billion dollar design app, has a new feature letting you generate images from text super easily. Check it out here!
Video: It’s not just still images. Runway ML is working on some pretty amazing tools for using AI in video editing as well. Within our lifetimes, there might even be a feature length film created entirely with AI 🤯 Don’t believe us? Check out what this team did with Into the Spiderverse
Gaming: Great post by a16z on what generative AI could mean for the gaming world
Funding: Got an idea for a game or experience that could use generative AI? Inworld (a platform that helps you build full conversational AI characters) is giving up to $1M in grants (in $50k increments) to individuals or teams with creative ideas
Startups: Finally, if you’re curious, here’s a list of AI startups based in SF
